Per’s Newsletter for the week of December 7th
Happy Friday everybody!  What a busy week it’s been!  I want to start this newsletter by commending our advising and the entire school for a job well done with Peace Night.  It was my first experience with this yearly event, and I have to say that I was very impressed with the variety of things that students in this school are capable of, especially our advising group.  We worked our tails off all week and were able to put out some incredible writing just in time to show our work at Peace Night.  I would also like to celebrate our advising’s first Community Circle.  The kids did a lot of work and it was a great success.  A special thanks to Caitlyn and the reader’s theater group, Henry, Coby, Ashyah and Ayalnesh for the Pet-lection presentation and to our wonderful hosts Lily and Leif.  You all did a fantastic job.
Band Concert
Our very own IA band will be holding a concert this upcoming Thursday evening.  The concert will feature both the beginning and advanced bands and will be held in the JCOS theater starting at 6:30.  Any performers will need to arrive at 6:00 to prepare.
Choice Time
It’s hard to believe that the holiday season is already upon us and our winter break is just around the corner.  In the spirit of giving and good cheer it has become our goal in the IA to offer choices for handmade gifts for the holidays.  If you have a particular skill in a craft or would like to share a holiday tradition with our students, we would love to have you.  Our choice time is on Tuesdays and Fridays from 2:30 to 3:10 in the afternoon and anyone who chooses to that activity is asked to do that activity both days.  If you are interested in joining us or have any questions please e-mail me or come on by the classroom before Tuesday morning.
Thanks and have a great weekend,
Per
