Newsletter

Hey everybody!  Happy Monday!

I had a great time talking with all of you last week at conferences.  It was so nice to sit down and talk with your kids about their goals for our year, and I'm looking forward to what is to come.

Book Fair
Thanks to all of you who purchased books from our second annual Scholastic Book Fair.  Every book that you purchased help us get new books for our classroom!

Art Museum Field Trip
This Wednesday we will be taking an all IA field trip to the Denver Museum of Art to explore culture and identity as a way of boosting our "Who am I?" studies.  We were able to get buses for our trip at no cost to the students and our entrance to the museum was paid for by money raised at our Zombie Dash.  Kids need to bring a sack lunch and we do have room for parent volunteers, so if you would like to come, please let me know as soon as possible.

Halloween Skate Day 2014

Halloween is quickly creeping up on us and it’s time for all of the JCOS creatures of the night to gather at Skate City for our wicked all school skate day.  On Friday, October 31st, dressed in our most outrageous costumes, we will climb aboard the buses and be transported to the Skate City off of 121st for a monstrous time.

The cost is $8.00, which must be turned in to your advisor on or before Friday, Oct. 31st.  We’ll be picked up from school at 9:00 and dropped back off at 1:30.  Don’t forget to pack all the gooey and slimy things that you want to eat for lunch and bring your roller blades if you want to use them.

Everyone is strongly encouraged to wear your costumes, as long as it won’t get in the way of skating (no masks or costumes that hang down by your feet).  Don’t forget to bring your head, $8.00, your slimy lunch and your costume.  Parents, grandparents and siblings are welcome to join us if they dare, but must also pay $8.00.  Please call Rosie at #303-982-7056 if you have any questions.  Come dressed in your best and be ready to have a bone chilling good time.

Haunted House – Do you like to be scared?  If so, come on down to the gym and get ready to scream.  We will open the doors to the haunted house around 1:45 and will keep them open until 3:30 or until everyone is too scared to go through any more.
